As I mentioned last week the house rejected the amendment to HJ49 which would have kept the Fund Board off the chopping block. But then the Senate rejected the House’s rejection. So now it goes to special conference committee. Each side picks three members to hash it out, and it is not clear where or when they actually do that. But thanks to our friends at VRA, we do have the 6 legislators who are, at some point, going to duke it out over this issue. Unfortunately, I am not sure there are any of our friends among the six. Please take a minute and look to see if you know any of these senators and delegates and if so give them a call!
Here’s the recent history of the bill plus the list of the three and their contact information. Please get on the horn and email and get people ESPECIALLY those who are represented by these folks to send in letters on why it is important that the fund board not get axed.
I haven’t heard anything from Charlie or Denny, so I don’t know exactly what is going on from their end.
I will be sending out a letters today and tomorrow. As well as contacting NoVA legislators to see if they have any “friends” on this committee. I would ask you do the same.
