Title: Senior Oracle Developer

Experience Required

 

·         Strong Oracle sql and pl/sql experience in writing procedures, triggers etc

·         Oracle pl/sql web toolkit and APEX

·         Strong working experience with oracle 12c/11g database

·         java script/ajax script

·         HTML,XML, XSL, XSLT and working experience with web services

·         Good oral and written communication skills

·         Ability to work on multiple projects/issues simultaneously

·         Full Life Cycle Development, including promotion methodology and change control

Job Discripton:

Works as part of the Virginia Department of Health, Office of Information Management (OIM) team and plan, coordinate, develop, implement and maintain multiple mission critical state-wide applications for the Division of Vital Records. Primarily this position will be responsible for making planned enhancements to existing VVESTS application (Virginia Vital Events and Screening Tracking System).

 

In depth knowledge of Oracle 12c Database, SQL, PL/SQL programming, Web PLSQL Tool Kit, APEX, UNIX shell scripts and Oracle 9i Application Server is required. Professional experience working with Oracle PL/SQL in an application development environment is required. Should have strong knowledge with relational databases and SQL.  Knowledge in software development and installation, change management and testing are preferable. Strong designing, development and trouble shooting skills required. Must be skilled in using object oriented design concepts, XML, HTML, JAVA/AJAX SCRIPT, web scripting tools and PVCS. Good oral and written communication skills are required. Ability to work on multiple projects/issues simultaneously. Must have the ability to assess the impact of software upgrades and other environment changes.

 

Strong background and work experience in developing true web applications a must. Five or more years of work experience is required in Oracle 12c Database, SQL, PL/SQL programming, and APEX. Experience in conducting feasibility studies; analyzing new requirements; preparing functional and system specifications for application programmers; developing data models and system designs; developing complex program codes; testing application and evaluating results for accuracy, timelines and integrative features; preparing documentation; implementing and supporting data processing systems is required.
