Requirements
· You have 5+ years of experience designing successful products, experiences, and interfaces for a range of devices.

Title: Design Researcher (Principal / Sr. Researcher)

As a Design Researcher of the Product Design team, you will provide breakthrough insights based on the analysis and synthesis of user needs, corporate strategies, enterprise capabilities and market opportunities. You will champion the user, delivering clear point-of-views, telling compelling stories and identifying clear use cases that inform design and strategy.
Responsibilities
User Experience Research
· Provides subject matter expertise in qualitative and quantitative research approaches, methods, and tools
· Works with project teams to identify and lead research needs, design learning plans, research materials and tests
· Leads the creation of customer research plans, screeners, discussion guides, and test plans
· Provides analysis of research related data with actionable recommendations
· Designs and develops research tools and activities according to the unique program/product needs
· Synthesizes research into insights, opportunities and frameworks
· Participates in the development of prototypes and leads the testing
· Coordinates with internal and external research resources where appropriate to maximize existing work and expertise
· Evangelizes research methodologies and approaches across project teams to empower every team member to increase their awareness of user needs
Transformational Design and Research
· Uses a variety of innovation approaches; e.g. design thinking, lean development, to design, develop, prototype, and test innovative products, services, experiences and/or solutions
· Builds insights and frameworks into a cohesive story to drive change
· Creates presentations and meeting materials; utilizing various forms of media - 2D, 3D, and videos
· Partners in the strategy development – connecting new concepts to the current business

Qualifications
· B.A. degree required; advanced degree in social sciences; e.g. anthropology, ethnography preferred or relevant equivalent experience
· 4-6 years of diverse ethnography and user research
· Demonstrated fluency in consumer research techniques including ethnography and other primary user research approaches
· Demonstrated experience translating user research into actionable insights
· In-depth knowledge of human-centered innovation approaches; e.g. design thinking
· Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset; ability to explore opportunities in a structured yet iterative way; experience with lean startup, agile, product model or similar development approaches preferred
· Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills and ability to see possible paths forward that are not clear to others
· Design experience; ability to visualize concepts, create mock-ups/prototypes; experience with design software, e.g. InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop

Title: UX Writer (Technical Writer)
Location: Fremont, CA
Contract: 12+ months

Responsibilities
· Lead the charge for customer conversational experience and translate business needs into conversational use cases
· Iterate and experiment to create beautiful, functional and thoughtful conversational designs that delight our customers
· Analyze product metrics such as daily sessions, time-on-page, and goal completion rate in order to evaluate effectiveness of existing copy
· Plan, write and edit conversational dialogue plus create or enhance intent templates for multi-modal experiences
· Work with multi-disciplinary teams. You’ll partner with product designer, engineering, product management (among other stakeholders) to find solutions to deliver value to users
· Develop a deep understanding for how the ABS customer shops and speaks
· Take part in user research (including chat log analysis, contextual interviews, etc.) to uncover user needs, pain points, and behaviors, leading to strategic and actionable product direction
· Be able to articulate experience strategy, opportunities and how usability relates to a larger brand experience to a diverse group of people
· Partner with the Design Team to develop new paradigms and frameworks for new interaction models
· Maintain brand voice and bot personality to create a consistent conversational experience

Qualifications
· B.A. degree and 2 years' design experience OR Master’s Degree and 1 year's design experience OR 4 years' design experience
· Experience working as a Conversational Designer, Linguist, Content Strategist, UX Designer, UX Writer or a relevant field in a consumer-focused business/product
· Strong understanding of experience principles and customer needs such as motivations and behaviors, with the ability to translate them into engaging and actionable deliverables
