Job Title: Technology Architect | Database | Teradata / Snowflake / Python -Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

Duration: 12 Months

Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled Technology Architect with deep expertise in Snowflake, Teradata, and Python to work on high-performance data solutions for one of our premier technology clients. The candidate will be responsible for architecting, optimizing, and maintaining large-scale analytical and ETL systems on Snowflake and Teradata environments, with a focus on performance tuning and efficient data design.

 

Must Have Skills:

 

Snowflake Expertise:

·         Strong understanding of Snowflake architecture, virtual warehouses, micro-partitions, table clustering, and materialized views.

·         Hands-on experience with Query Profile analysis, query optimization, time travel, and zero-copy cloning.

·         Experience with SnowPipe, Streams, Tasks, and Data Sharing.

Teradata:

·         Proficient in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries and stored procedures.

·         Experience in data warehousing, performance optimization, and query tuning.

Python:

·         Skilled in developing automation scripts, data transformation workflows, and integration with Snowflake/Teradata.

ETL and Data Integration:

·         Knowledge of ETL tools and data ingestion from multiple source systems.

·         Experience in AWS-based Snowflake environments is preferred.

 

Nice to Have Skills:

·         Understanding of BI tools and data visualization frameworks.

·         Experience in cloud data migration and data pipeline orchestration.

·         Familiarity with SQL performance debugging and query profiling.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Design, implement, and optimize Snowflake workflows and data pipelines.

·         Perform query analysis, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance improvements.

·         Collaborate with development teams to define data models, ETL strategies, and best practices.

·         Utilize time travel, micro-partitioning, and clustering to ensure high-performance query execution.

·         Develop and maintain Python automation scripts for data processing.

·         Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and system performance evaluations.

·         Provide production support and monitoring to ensure reliability and data accuracy.

 

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.

·         8+ years of relevant experience in database architecture and data engineering.

·         Proven experience in Snowflake, Teradata, and Python with hands-on development and tuning exposure.

·         Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

·         Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across teams.
