Firewall Engineer (Palo Alto)

Responsibilities

● Dynamic Routing configuration and troubleshooting

● Packet level review and analysis for troubleshooting and design

● Rule design

● NAT rule design

● Firewall log and flow reviews using an observability platform observability dashboard creation a plus

● Intrusion Detection & Prevention

● Customer firewall rule add/modifications/changes

● Noncompliant rule remediation

● Firewall rule migration

● Subject matter expert (SME) with a solid network security background and hands on experience with GlobalProtect VPN [Prisma Access cloud and NGFWs]

● Experience in building, migrating & supporting enterprise VPN platforms and systems for Desktop (macOS, Windows) & Mobile (iOS, Android), and/or SASE based solutions by test driving proof of concept and deployment of security solutions

 

Preferred Skills

● Strong exp in network security engineering

● Strong exp on Palo Alto FW engineering

● Specialized Palo Alto engineer with hands on management, design, implementation, and deployment experience

● Enterprise experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting VPN technologies (Palo Alto, f5 BIGIP APM)

● Practical knowledge on IPSec tunnels and encryption, VPCs, VRF, TCP/IP, OSI model, IPv6, cloud based network security architecture, VPN deployment strategies & migrations, data traffic manipulation, Proxy, Load Balancers, DNS / Route53

● At least one Palo Alto certification

● Python / Shell scripting

● Ansible

● Terraform
