Overview
- The D365 SCM Functional Consultant / Architect will lead the end-to-end implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management (SCM) across 8 countries: US, UK, Netherlands, India, Singapore, China, Japan, and Australia.
- This role will be responsible for designing and delivering a global SCM template, ensuring standardized processes across Procurement, Inventory, Warehousing, Production, and Planning, while accommodating country-specific operational, regulatory, and logistics requirements.
- The consultant will act as a trusted advisor to Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, and Executive Leadership teams, driving operational efficiency, scalability, and seamless integration with global finance processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Global SCM Architecture & Template Design
- Define and implement a global SCM template covering:
- Procurement & Sourcing
- Inventory Management
- Warehouse Management
- Production Control
- Planning & Forecasting
- Quality Management
- Standardize:
- Item Master Structure
- Warehouse Templates
- Procurement Policies
- Inventory Valuation & Costing Models
- Establish reusable global process frameworks across all countries.
2. Multi-Country Implementation Leadership
- Lead D365 SCM rollout across:
- United States
- United Kingdom
- Netherlands
- India
- Singapore
- China
- Japan
- Australia
- Drive a template-based deployment approach:
- Global Core Design
- Controlled Local Variations
- Manage:
- Multi-site environments
- Multi-warehouse operations
- Multi-legal entity configurations
- Ensure scalability for:
- Manufacturing
- Distribution
- Retail operations
3. Localization & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure SCM processes align with regional business and compliance requirements:
- US / UK / Netherlands / Australia: Advanced warehousing and logistics compliance
- India / Singapore: GST-linked procurement and compliance workflows
- China: Local regulatory requirements, integrations, and distribution controls
- Japan: Inventory management, quality controls, and traceability standards
- Align SCM processes with:
- Local tax regulations
- Financial posting requirements
- Balance global standardization with local business needs.
4. SCM Solution Design & Configuration
- Lead fit-gap analysis workshops across:
- Product Information Management (PIM)
- Procurement & Sourcing
- Inventory Management
- Advanced Warehouse Management (WMS)
- Production Control
- Master Planning (MRP/MPS)
- Quality Management
- Design end-to-end supply chain processes integrated with Finance:
- Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
- Inventory Valuation
- Product Costing
- Maximize standard D365 functionality while minimizing customizations.
5. Data Migration & Master Data Governance
- Define and execute data migration strategy using Data Management Framework (DMF) for:
- Item Masters
- Vendor Masters
- Bills of Materials (BOM)
- Routings
- Warehouses
- Locations
- Establish global master data governance standards.
- Ensure:
- Data integrity
- Validation
- Reconciliation across all countries
- Define:
- Naming conventions
- Item structures
- Warehouse hierarchies
6. Integration & Ecosystem Design
- Design SCM integration architecture with:
- 4PL providers (DHL, FedEx, etc.)
- Warehouse automation systems
- Shipping carriers and tracking platforms
- Procurement and supplier platforms
- Collaborate with Finance teams to ensure:
- Accurate inventory valuation
- Product costing
- Financial postings
- Support integrations using:
- APIs
- Azure Integration Services
- Middleware platforms
7. Testing, Deployment & Rollout
- Lead:
- System Integration Testing (SIT)
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Defect Management & Resolution
- Manage:
- Multi-country deployment strategy
- Cutover planning and execution
- Support:
- Hypercare
- Post-go-live stabilization
- Drive user adoption through training and change management.
8. Reporting & Analytics
- Design reporting and dashboard solutions for:
- Inventory Visibility
- Warehouse KPIs
- Procurement Performance
- Demand vs. Supply Planning
- Enable real-time operational insights using:
- Power BI
- D365 Analytics
- Support data-driven decision-making across global operations.
9. Stakeholder & Consulting Leadership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to:
- Supply Chain Executives
- Operations Leaders
- CIO / CFO Stakeholders
- Lead:
- Executive Workshops
- Design Reviews
- Steering Committee Meetings
- Support:
- Pre-sales engagements
- RFP responses
- Solution demonstrations
- Effort estimations
10. Governance & Best Practices
- Ensure adherence to:
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 SCM best practices
- Global supply chain governance standards
- Enterprise architecture guidelines
- Security, compliance, and audit requirements
- Promote scalable, reusable, and future-ready solution designs.
Required Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 SCM.
- Strong expertise in:
- Procurement & Sourcing
- Inventory Management
- Advanced Warehouse Management (WMS)
- Production Control
- Master Planning
- Quality Management
- Experience leading global multi-country D365 rollouts.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing, distribution, and retail supply chain operations.
- Expertise in SCM-Finance integration, inventory costing, and valuation.
- Experience with data migration, integrations, and Power BI reporting.
- Excellent stakeholder management and consulting skills.
- Ability to lead global workshops and executive-level discussions
