Position: Technical Architect - Azure
Location – Nashville, TN (Hybrid Model: 2-3 Days Onsite Role)
Type: Long Term Contract Role
Role Overview:
Define, architect, and lead the end-to-end cloud infrastructure strategy for a healthcare payer organization with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies, cloud security, AI-enabled operations, and zero-trust governance. Drive modernization efforts across infrastructure, monitoring, DevOps, security operations, and compliance aligned to HIPAA, PHI data protection, and payer industry regulatory expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect scalable, secure cloud infrastructure solutions in Microsoft Azure supporting mission-critical healthcare platforms.
- Design and govern CI/CD pipelines across Azure DevOps, GitHub, and Jenkins, leveraging agent-driven DevOps governance and ARM templates for Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Lead zero-trust implementation, identity and access strategy, and policy-driven governance using Azure Active Directory, Conditional Access, UEBA, and device management solutions (Intune & Jamf).
- Own end-to-end security operations design – Azure Sentinel SOC, SOAR playbooks, legacy SIEM coexistence/migration, threat analytics with Splunk, security monitoring, patch management, vulnerability remediation, and proof-of-compliance documentation.
- Implement and optimize Telemetry and Observability frameworks using Azure Monitor, synthetic monitoring, dependency mapping, AI-based impact inference, log analytics, and distributed traceability.
- Lead network and connectivity strategy including Meraki, telephony integration, SDWAN, and vendor ecosystem coordination.
- Manage cloud workloads – VM management, DB & App Services, high availability, DR strategy, capacity planning, service continuity, license consumption and cost optimization.
- Own and guide infra monitoring practices, service performance baselines, predictive failure resolution leveraging AI-driven inference models.
- Oversee enterprise security tools including Netskope, Deepwatch, Proofpoint, integration into SIEM/SOAR pipelines, and enforcement of security workflows.
- Drive code repository strategy, branching models, and artifact governance using Git platforms (GitHub / Azure Repos).
- Support minimal telephony, M365 collaboration stack and M365 Copilot security workflows alignment.
- Collaborate with clinical and operational product teams to ensure infrastructure and data architecture supports healthcare payer workflows and member experience priorities.
Required Technical Skills
- Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Architecture

- Azure Active Directory, Conditional Access, Zero-trust
- Azure Sentinel (SIEM), SOAR, UEBA
- Legacy SIEM platform exposure (Splunk etc.)
- Azure Monitor, Dependency Mapping, Synthetic Monitoring
- Security Monitoring, SOC Operations, Patch/Vulnerability Mgmt
- VM, DB, App Services Operations
- Meraki, Telephony Integration, Network governance
- Tooling exposure: Netskope, Deepwatch, Proofpoint, Intune, Jamf
- Experience with data graph or Azure Graph concepts
- Optional plus: AI-driven observability and predictive incident resolution
Domain Experience:
- Experience working with Healthcare Payer or Provider ecosystems.
- Understanding of HIPAA, PHI, PII protection frameworks, access audits, and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with claims, enrollment, eligibility, member workflows (good to have, not mandatory).
Soft Skills:
- Ability to define architecture roadmaps and modernization strategies.
- Strong vendor negotiation and platform evaluation skills.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with security, clinical, compliance, and senior leadership teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, drive governance
