Requirement for:      Financial Business Process Consultant – Ocoee, FL

Client:                        Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Turnpike Headquarters in Ocoee, FL.

Closes:                        January 22, 2026 by 11am EST

For Term:                  Through 6/30/2026 (840 hours), This position will most likely be renewed for Fiscal Year 2027.

This position will be located at Turnpike Headquarters in Ocoee, FL.  This is an onsite position, not remote. First-round interviews will be conducted via Microsoft Teams. 

We're looking for a highly experienced and meticulous Business Process Consultant with a strong background in financial systems implementations to join our team. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who can work on complex systems processes to analyze, design, implement, and optimize enterprise financial systems by aligning accounting, finance, and business processes with information technology solutions. This role serves as a key liaison between Finance, Accounting, and IT, ensuring that financial system implementations support current operational needs while enabling future business growth and compliance requirements.

Complexity: Intermediate professional level role. Develop business rules and user requirements for financial systems. Works on multiple projects as a team member and may also lead projects. May coach junior level technical staff.

Develops, evaluates and maintains systems that help process and report toll transactions data accurately and effectively.

Requires technical expertise in reviewing and updating processes to meet changing business unit conditions, project management, and business system requirements with knowledge of industry best practices and procedures.

Assists in the development and implementation of financial controls that will ensure compliance with statutory and internal requirements.

Prepares status reports on projects to management.

Responsibilities:

Financial Systems & Process Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end business process analysis and redesign for financial system implementations, upgrades, and optimizations.
  • Translate accounting and finance requirements into clear, actionable system and process specifications.
  • Ensure financial systems support GAAP, regulatory, audit, and internal control requirements.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on accounting workflows, financial controls, and data integrity throughout system implementation.

Business Process Engineering

  • Document current-state financial processes and systems, identify gaps and inefficiencies, and design future-state solutions.

  • Develop and implement standardized, scalable financial processes aligned with enterprise strategy.
  • Define process performance metrics and reporting to measure effectiveness post-implementation.
  • Plan and support transition activities, including knowledge transfer, process change management and user adoption.

Project & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as a lead or senior contributor on large, complex, enterprise-wide financial system projects.
  • Partner with Finance leadership, Accounting, IT, external vendors, and auditors to ensure alignment and successful delivery.
  • Support project planning, prioritization, risk management, and issue resolution.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and project team members.

Strategic Advisory & Continuous Improvement

  • Advise leadership on future-state financial systems, emerging technologies, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in continuous review of financial processes to ensure alignment with evolving business needs and regulatory changes.
  • Contribute to financial process engineering roadmaps and integration with corporate strategic plans.
