Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and optimize MySQL databases in production and non-production environments.
- Provide 24x7 support for critical systems during US business hours, including participation in on-call rotations.
- Implement and manage infrastructure automation using Terraform.
- Develop and maintain Python scripts for automation, monitoring, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database reliability and scalability.
- Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with security and backup standards.
- Work closely with cloud teams to manage deployments on Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Contribute to incident response processes to meet SLAs and minimize downtime.
- Stay informed on AI/ML trends and explore opportunities to integrate intelligent solutions into database operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Core MySQL DBA expertise: installation, configuration, performance tuning, replication, backup/restore.
- Strong knowledge of Python scripting for automation and operational tasks.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Awareness of AI/ML concepts and their application in database operations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in high-availability architectures and disaster recovery planning.
- Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools and observability frameworks.
