Data Modeler with Snowflake
Location:
San Jose, CA (Hybrid)
Duration:
6+ months
Data Modeling & Architecture
Design and maintain
logical and physical data models
for demand and supply planning data domains.
Develop
fact and dimension models
(star / snowflake schemas) for analytics and reporting.
Model key entities such as:
Products and product hierarchies
Customers and customer segments
Demand forecasts (statistical, consensus, final)
Supply plans and production plans
Inventory balances and movements
BOMs and routings
Capacities, constraints, and lead times
Ensure data models support:
Forecast accuracy and bias metrics
Inventory turns and days of supply
Service level and fill rate KPIs
Supply-demand alignment and constraint analysis
Data Integration & Collaboration
Work with source systems such as:
ERP systems (Oracle)
Demand planning and supply planning applications
Manufacturing execution systems (MES)
Partner with ETL / data engineering teams to ensure accurate data ingestion, transformations, and refresh cycles.
Collaborate with business and analytics teams to translate planning and reporting requirements into robust data structures.
Governance & Quality
Ensure data consistency, integrity, and traceability across demand and supply planning data sets.
Define master data definitions, hierarchies, and business rules.
Support data validation, reconciliation, and issue resolution across planning systems.
Technical Skills
Data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, ER/Studio, Lucidchart, or similar)
Advanced SQL for data validation, reconciliation, and analysis
Data warehouse concepts (star schema, snowflake schema, slowly changing dimensions)
Familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.) is a plus
Nice to Have
Experience with Oracle Supply Chain Planning Cloud (Demand Management, Supply Planning)
Knowledge of S&OP / IBP processes
Experience with forecast accuracy metrics (MAPE, MAD, Bias)
Exposure to global manufacturing and multi-site planning environments
Soft Skills
Strong communication skills with both business and technical stakeholders
Ability to work independently in a contract environment
Structured, detail-oriented approach to data design
Comfortable operating in fast-paced, cross-functional teams
