Position: Storage/Backup – Rubrik Consultant

Location: Remote (CST and EST Time Zone Pref.)

Candidate might have to visit to client location if required.

Resource Type: Contractor

Early joiners required who can start immediately once BGC is clear.

 

Backup and Storage Rubrik Job Description:

• Advanced Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution: Expertly diagnose and resolve complex issues related to Rubrik deployments, including backup failures, performance bottlenecks, and configuration problems. 
• Rubrik System Management: Configure, monitor, and maintain Rubrik appliances, ensuring optimal performance, capacity, and security. 
• Data Protection Strategy & Implementation: Develop and implement comprehensive data protection strategies that align with business objectives, including backup policies for various workloads (VMs, databases, filesystems). 
• Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline data protection processes and enhance efficiency. 
• Knowledge Transfer & Mentoring: Provide guidance and training to other engineers and team members on Rubrik technologies and best practices. 
• Disaster Recovery: Plan and execute disaster recovery drills and ensure the successful restoration of data in case of outages. 

 

Required Skills:

• Rubrik Expertise: Extensive experience with Rubrik's backup and recovery solutions, including the Rubrik platform, API, and CLI. 
• Backup & Recovery Knowledge: Solid understanding of backup and recovery concepts, best practices, and different backup types. 
• Troubleshooting Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve complex technical issues. 
• Operating Systems: Good knowledge of various operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and Unix, and their integration with backup software. 
• Virtualization: Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V. 
• Databases: Familiarity with common database systems and their backup and recovery requirements. 
• Storage Technologies: Understanding of SAN/NAS/FC switches and tape libraries. 
• Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
