Position Summary
SailPoint Certified IdentityIQ Engineer to serve as the dedicated expert for SailPoint IdentityIQ optimization. This role will work in partnership with the Primary Enterprise Architect to complete the full IAM architecture vision. The position combines strategic design with hands-on execution, ensuring SailPoint is fully leveraged to streamline identity governance, enhance security, and support enterprise compliance goals.
Key Responsibilities
Exclusive SailPoint Focus
• Act as the subject matter expert for SailPoint IdentityIQ within the IAM program.
• Collaborate with the Primary Architect to align SailPoint IdentityIQ capabilities with the broader enterprise architecture.
• Identify and implement unused or underutilized SailPoint IdentityIQ features to maximize ROI.
Hands-On Technical Delivery
• Configure, customize, and optimize SailPoint IdentityIQ components.
• Develop connectors, workflows, and rules using Java, Beanshell, and SailPoint APIs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex IAM issues in real time.
• Deliver reports on server resource utilization and average task execution time.
• Provide recommendations on server resource allocation to keep the servers right-sized.
Strategic Architecture Support
• Provide technical depth to complement the Primary Architect’s enterprise-level design.
• Contribute to IAM roadmap development, focusing on SailPoint IdentityIQ integration with HR systems, cloud apps, and legacy platforms.
Security & Compliance
• Ensure SailPoint IdentityIQ configurations meet regulatory requirements (FERPA, HIPAA, PCI).
• Implement audit-ready processes for certifications and reporting.
Knowledge Transfer & Mentorship
• Train internal IT staff on SailPoint IdentityIQ best practices.
• Develop documentation and operational standards for SailPoint IdentityIQ processes.
Required Qualifications
• Certification: SailPoint Certified IdentityIQ Engineer certification (or equivalent).
• Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in IAM with at least 3 years in SailPoint IdentityIQ architecture and deployment.
- Proven success in optimizing SailPoint IdentityIQ environments for large enterprises.
• Technical Skills:
- Expertise in managing SailPoint IdentityIQ business continuity by utilizing Services Standard Deployment (SSD) builds to apply repeatable and restorable customizations to SailPoint IdentityIQ
- In-depth knowledge in scaling and optimizing SailPoint IdentityIQ server infrastructure within RHEL w/ JBoss 7 and Kubernetes w/ Tomcat 9
- Expertise in Java, Beanshell, SailPoint IdentityIQ APIs, and custom connector development.
- Strong understanding of identity lifecycle management, RBAC, and governance workflows.
• Soft Skills:
- Ability to collaborate effectively with enterprise architects and cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication and mentoring capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience integrating SailPoint IdentityIQ with SAP-HCM, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, on-premise Active Directory, Azure AD, Google Workspace, MySQL/MSSQL/PLSQL databases, and other cloud applications.
• Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001).
• Prior higher education or large enterprise experience.
