$70/hr on C2C Only

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Architect to lead the design, development, and governance of our enterprise digital experience platform. This role will define technical architecture standards, guide implementation teams, and ensure our AEM ecosystem scales to support complex, high-traffic web properties across multiple brands and regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and own the end-to-end architecture for AEM-based solutions, including content delivery, authoring workflows, and integration patterns
  • Define and enforce architectural standards, coding best practices, and component design patterns across development teams
  • Lead technical design sessions and produce architecture documentation, including solution blueprints, sequence diagrams, and infrastructure topology
  • Architect solutions using AEM as a Cloud Service, AEM Sites, and/or AEM Assets, including headless (GraphQL/Content Fragments) and hybrid delivery models
  • Design integrations between AEM and third-party systems (CRM, CDP, DAM, commerce platforms, personalization engines, analytics tools)
  • Establish CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and DevOps practices in partnership with cloud/infrastructure teams
  • Conduct performance tuning, scalability planning, and capacity assessments for dispatcher, publish, and author tiers
  • Define security architecture including authentication (SAML/SSO/OAuth), permissions models, and data protection standards
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers, guiding code reviews and troubleshooting complex issues
  • Partner with product owners, UX designers, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Evaluate new AEM features, Adobe Experience Cloud tools, and emerging technologies for potential adoption
  • Support migration and upgrade initiatives (e.g., on-prem to AEM as a Cloud Service)
  • Ensure solutions comply with accessibility (WCAG), performance, and enterprise governance standards

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in enterprise web development, with 5+ years specifically architecting AEM solutions
  • Deep expertise in AEM Sites and/or AEM Assets, including Sling, OSGi, JCR, and Apache Sling Models
  • Strong hands-on experience with AEM as a Cloud Service (Cloud Manager, Adobe I/O)
  • Proficiency in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTL (Sightly), and RESTful/GraphQL API design
  • Experience architecting headless and hybrid AEM implementations using Content Fragments and Content Services
  • Solid understanding of dispatcher configuration, caching strategies, and CDN integration
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) and infrastructure-as-code
  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue) in the context of AEM integration
  • Strong knowledge of integration patterns with Adobe Experience Cloud products (Adobe Target, Analytics, Campaign) and third-party MarTech systems
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present architecture decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Adobe AEM Architect or Developer certification mandatory
