The client is looking for a Senior Data Engineer/Analyst with 8+ years of experience who can bridge the gap between business and technical teams. The ideal candidate must be local to Cary, NC and available for an in-person interview. This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong experience with Informatica MFT (must-have), DBT (must-have), Snowflake (must-have), SQL (must-have), ETL requirement analysis, data validation, data profiling, and data modeling. The candidate should be able to gather business requirements, convert them into detailed functional specifications and transformation rules for ETL developers, write SQL validation scripts, work with large datasets across Oracle, SQL Server, Big Data, and collaborate with data engineering and data science teams. Experience with AWS, data warehousing, Agile/SDLC, and preferably the Insurance domain is highly desired.
Role: Sr DBT Snowflake Data Engineer/Analyst
Duration: 6+ Months
Location: Local to Cary NC only !
Interview: Must be able to do face to face interview
Key Responsibilities:
• Work with business/data product team to translate given business problem into
analytical solution with defined outcomes.
• Analyze the data in depth, informatica MFT, using SQLs and other exploratory
tools against various platforms such as Bigdata, Oracle, SQL Server and others.
• Convert business requirements to functional requirements, with detailed
transformation rules for ETL team. This is a very technical hands-on role and
mandatory to have Informatica MFT,
DBT and snowflake
• Work closely with the ETL and data science teams to review the
requirements and data integrations.
• Understand the requirements from Business and Data Science. Understand the
business and business impact on use cases.
• Write validation scripts to validate the data loaded by ETL team an assess
using MFT / DBT.
• Work with IT and business customers to develop and design requirements to
formulate technical design.
• Skills to understand the right functional domain knowledge of the business to
be able to gather right requirements for the design.
• Capture meta data, data lineage, reference data management and data quality
rules as part of data governance.
• Work with team spread across the globe in driving the delivery of projects.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 8+ years of solutions development / analysis experience, including 5+ years
in data management/engineering organization.
• Proficient understanding of distributed computing principles and informatica
Scripts / MFT
• Extensive experience in data analysis and data modeling (table design).
• Proficiency in SQLs and data exploratory tools.
• Extensive experience writing functional requirements and high-level design
documents.
• Experience in writing validation scripts to validate the data, data
integrations and ETL transformations.
• Analytical skills to analyze situations and come to optimal and efficient
solution based on requirements.
• Strong data analysis and profiling skills.
• Data warehouse concepts.
• Strong analytical skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
• SQL knowledge and data analysis skills for data anomaly detection and data
quality assurance.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred:
• Experience working on MFT and DBT skills and should possess cloud knowledge.
• Strong background or working experience in Insurance Industry as a Lead
analyst.
• Ability to interact with senior leadership teams in IT and business raise the
required defect and track project end to using manual or automation design
creation.
• Should have good SQL knowledge/ AWS and snowflake.
• Should be good in Agile methodologies and SDLC process.
