Position Overview

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Data Engineer to join a newly established Data Center of Excellence (COE) and play a key role in shaping the organization's modern data ecosystem. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of data technology, leveraging Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML) to support and enhance the company's Business Intelligence (BI) capabilities.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data solutions within a Power BI and Databricks environment, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and data integration solutions.
  • Support and optimize the company's Business Intelligence infrastructure and reporting capabilities.
  • Develop and manage data models, ETL/ELT processes, and data workflows within Databricks.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists, BI Developers, and business stakeholders to deliver analytical solutions.
  • Enable AI and Machine Learning initiatives by preparing and managing high-quality datasets.
  • Create and maintain scalable data architectures that support advanced analytics and reporting.
  • Develop and optimize Power BI datasets, dashboards, and reporting solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, governance, and security across platforms.
  • Monitor system performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Contribute to the development of standards, best practices, and processes within the new Data COE.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data-focused role.
  • Strong expertise in Databricks and modern cloud-based data platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI, including data modeling and report optimization.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data transformation techniques.
  • Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Understanding of Data Science, AI, and Machine Learning concepts and their data requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
