Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Looker Developer with 3–6 years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions using Looker. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in building interactive dashboards, developing LookML models, creating reusable explores, and translating business requirements into insightful visualizations. The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to deliver scalable and high-performing BI solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Looker.
- Develop and optimize LookML models, views, explores, and dashboards.
- Translate business requirements into intuitive and actionable visualizations.
- Build reusable semantic models to ensure consistency across reports.
- Write and optimize SQL queries for data analysis and reporting.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure data quality and model accuracy.
- Optimize dashboard performance and improve query efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve reporting, data validation, and dashboard issues.
- Work with business users to understand reporting needs and provide analytical solutions.
- Follow BI development standards, governance, and best practices.
Key Skills (Must Have)
- 3–6 years of experience in Business Intelligence and Analytics.
- Hands-on experience with Looker development and dashboard creation.
- Strong expertise in LookML (Models, Views, Explores, Dimensions, Measures).
- Strong SQL skills with experience in query optimization.
- Experience building executive, operational, and analytical dashboards.
- Good understanding of data modeling and dimensional modeling concepts.
- Experience working with cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or Teradata.
- Ability to gather business requirements and convert them into effective dashboard solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Good to Have Skills
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), especially BigQuery.
- Knowledge of Python for data analysis or automation.
- Experience with Git or version control for LookML projects.
- Familiarity with data orchestration tools such as Airflow or dbt.
- Experience with embedded analytics and Looker APIs.
- Understanding of Row-Level Security (RLS) and access management in Looker.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Looker Business Analyst or LookML Developer certification is an advantage.
- Experience working in enterprise-scale analytics environments.
