Job Description

VDOT is seeking a Senior Azure Infrastructure Engineer to implement, configure, manage, and provide guidance on cloud infrastructure within its Azure environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing, maintaining, securing, and monitoring Azure resources while supporting mission-critical enterprise systems. This role requires strong leadership, troubleshooting, and cloud migration expertise, along with the ability to provide technical guidance to management and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain, monitor, and provide guidance on Azure cloud infrastructure.
• Design and enforce Azure networking and security policies.
• Plan and execute migrations from on-premises environments to Azure.
• Manage backup, disaster recovery (DR), and business continuity strategies.
• Monitor Azure environments using Azure Monitor, Workbooks, Alerts, and dashboards.
• Support production applications and troubleshoot infrastructure issues.
• Work with security tools such as Tenable for vulnerability remediation.
• Collaborate with teams supporting .NET, Java, SQL, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, and other enterprise applications.
• Provide technical leadership and recommendations to management and stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of Azure infrastructure engineering experience.
• 8+ years implementing, maintaining, monitoring, and managing Azure resources.
• 8+ years planning and executing cloud migrations from on-premises to Azure.
• 8+ years working in mission-critical enterprise environments with backup and disaster recovery strategies.
• 8+ years implementing Azure networking and security policies.
• 8+ years using Azure Monitor, dashboards, alerts, and observability tools.
• 8+ years supporting vulnerability remediation and security initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, OSI layers, and network protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft certifications:
  • Azure Administrator Associate
  • Azure Solutions Architect
• Networking certifications:
  • Network+
