God helped me fix my home computer last night. I mentioned in my e-mail yesterday how it had a virus and I needed to take action to repair the problem. God gave me the guidance I needed to handle the situation soberly - understanding it will take time to fix (I can't have what I want when I want it), the willingness to ask for help and follow the suggestions of my IT guy here at work, and them to carry out the suggestion without getting frustrated or angry. After removing three Trojan virus's yesterday and a 2-hour long full computer scan, it's up and running with protection! A good example of how I used the principles of recovery into all my affairs. Oh yeah - I didn't find the need or desire to drink over the frustration of a broken computer ;)

 

The Daily Reflections today touches on the promises of 12th Step work - immunity from alcohol and the ability to live in a new and wonderful world. The intensive work we do with other alkies helps not only them to achieve sobriety .. but for us to strengthen our own. My newest sponsee has been making lots of meetings and asking lots of questions - the other two guys I have been working with are still writing out their 9th step amendment letters for people they cannot contact face-to-face. Going thru the steps so thoroughly and rigorously helps me review my own program and enhances my recovery today.
