Announcement:

The UN Statistics Division is looking for a Spanish-speaking consultant for the Data for Now project in Colombia to provide the national statistics office of Colombia (DANE) with tailored training and follow-up support on probabilistic record linkage methods, and to support the technical team led by DANE in implementing practical exercises for improving the linkages of administrative records with the Population and Housing Census database and selected Household Survey datasets.

The Data for Now initiative aims to develop countries’ capacities to deliver the information needed by local and national policy and decision-makers to achieve the 2030 Agenda. To this end, it supports members of the national statistical systems in participating countries to collaborate more effectively with local, national, and global partners from intergovernmental organizations, academia, civil society, and the private sector, in order to leverage innovative sources, technologies, and methods for the streamlined production and dissemination of better, more timely, and disaggregated data for sustainable development. The initiative is coordinated by the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD)the World Bankthe Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data (GPSDD), and the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN TReNDS).

More information on Data for Now is available here: https://unstats.un.org/capacity-development/data-for-now/

Please see the attached TOR for more details on the consultancy. In case you know anyone in your networks who would be a good fit, please send along their information.

It is a consultation, which could be full time for a limited period or part time over a longer period - and yes, paid.

I assume this is for a  full time salaried hire. Almost certainly the Statistics Without Borders pro bono group would be  interested if they were looking for volunteers. SWB has done work with the UN in the past.
