Hei!
I'm working on the Spanish Distro of Ubuntu and I really do not have
the knowledge to script up to the point where it all falls in place
(deb seeds, packaging) and so i think that reconstructor is the way to
go, But I always meet a problem:
What about the Windows side of the Ubuntu CD? So I have made myself a
little blueprint at launchpad where I invite everyone to participate
if there is interest on this issue:
https://blueprints.launchpad.net/reconstructor/+spec/customizing-opendisc-with-reconstructor
The main idea is tpo have the flexibility we have on the ubuntu side
of the side in the windows side. This would of course imply working
with the Open Disc guys (
http://theopendisc.com/) but hey! Aren't we
in the FLOSS community good at doing namely that?
So My question is:
How difficult/easy is to add support for removing/adding/changing a
win32 app (just an .exe file) within the CD given that the support for
this (the actual links and translation within the OpenDiscs browser to
this files) is already done within the OpenDisc project?
If there's enough momentum we could achieve the posibility of having
the ubuntu CD localized in at least 10-20 languages in the Windows AND
the Ubuntu side of things...Now THAT should be a goal for this
community in order to invite more people into the FLOSS world.
CHeers!
