X error: BadDevice ?

First use of Reconstructor, and I am not finding success easy - I
initially ignored the terminal error messages but they may be
important :-)
When starting reconstructor the terminal shows:

Terminal:

X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 169

Failed to open device

my system is Kubuntu 7.04

Any suggestions please?

Reconstructor has only been tested on ubuntu and not kubuntu. There
are plans in the future to include support, but not at this time.
