Hello,
I would like to initiate a new LiveCD for a Server (means without Gnome
or KDE or anything like this). Would this be possible with the CD from
Ubuntu as a base?
Another Question would be, if I could generate another GRUB-Dialog on
the beginning of the Boot-Process. So to say "install LAMP" and
additionaly "install Buildprocesses"?

R,

Markus

i would imagine that is possible via apt-get remove, although i haven't tried it.  as for the boot options, you can edit [WORKINGDIR]/remaster/isolinux/isolinux.cfg -- that's the config file that gives you the "Start Live CD" boot options.

with a live server cd, without gnome/kde etc., you may have to do some editing to the initial ramdisk.

point?

at this time, no.  the server cd uses the original debian install procedure (debian-installer) just like the ubuntu alternate cd.  however, i am getting very close to completing the alternate cd creation for reconstructor.  that would (theoretically - need to test) allow you to use the ubuntu alternate cd/server cd as a base, and then add custom software to the disc...  that is coming in version 2.5.
