What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected output is to get the packages.......

actual output
-------------------------------------------------------
Calculating Alternate ISO Size...
Distribution: unknown
Version: unknown
Architecture: unknown
Unable to detect codename for Ubuntu CD Version - APT Repositories will NOT
be modified...
Backing up old apt config...
No extra packages found...
Finished customizing alternate install...
--------------------------------------------------------

In addition, it wiped out my /etc/apt/source.list file

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2.8 / 8.04

Please provide any additional information below.
I have tried this just selecting the repositories via the check boxes and
get the same results.
If I select no check boxes and only enter repository data in the dialog
box, I get the same results.
If I check the boxes and manually enter the repository data - same results.

I will check it out asap.  In the meantime, reconstructor creates a backup of your sources.list file in /etc/apt/sources.list.orig
