java installation error

hey all...

if you are not aware, there is an issue with installing the Java
plugin. if you do not launch reconstructor from the command line, when
it comes time to install java, reconstructor appears to lock (there is
a license agreement for java that only shows up in the console...)

any ideas for a fix?

Hi.

With samba too there is the same problem.

The solution may be a chrooted terminal for do some tasks: samba and
java install, skell customization, etc .

alright... the java installation is done. i do just what you suggested (like the VMWare installation) an xterm window is shown, and installation is completed. however, i tested samba, and it installs fine the way it is.... did you use a custom package?

Hi Evan.

Yesterday i tried to install samba from the repositories and it given me an error., i suppose that it happened because samba asks for some questions: domain, password encrytion, ...

hey, sorry for the late reply... ;)

download the latest beta... the security repos weren't added, and that would cause the samba installation to fail... i tried it with the latest beta, and it worked...
