Hi,

I have been trying to get the Asus Xtion Pro Live to work on a new laptop (Acer Aspire V3-571G with Nvidia GT640m and Windows 7 64 bit).  Unfortunately, the windows drivers do not appear to work, as I keep getting the error message "This device cannot start. (Code 10)".  I have tried rebooting and using both USB 2 and USB3 ports, but to no avail.  Any help would be appreciated.

PS  I have had the Xtion working on a Lenovo ThinkPad (NVS300 card), so I know it is not an issue with the Xtion.

I'm having that problem too. I'm on a Retina MacBook, Nvidia GT650M and Win7 64-bit dual-boot; Kinect works, but not the Xtion...it gets that same "Code 10" error code.

I don't think this is a USB2 / USB3 thing, because both the ports on the rMBP are USB3, and in OSX both the Xtion and the Kinect work. Also, same as you, I tried the Xtion on an older Win7 laptop and it was fine...

I haven't this this error yet. Will have to investigate. Are you sure that you don't have the MSKinect drivers installed? Have a look at the devicemanager. What openni version are you running?

Best,
Christoph

Is the device recognized as PrimeSense Camera in the device manager?

Not sure. primesense p1080. I had it plugged into my desktop before on a usb 2.0 port so didn't notice. I tried a ubs 3.0 port on desktop and same problem. Well you guys be talking to ASUS or Primesense about this or will the users have to?

THanks

In my case, the Xtion is recognised in the Device Manager as a Primesense P1080, but it will not start (error 10).
I have tried uninstalling and updating the driver, but to no effect.

From your screenshot I recognize that the sensor itself has a problem (the yellow exclamation mark). Just an idea: did you try to install the drivers from the CD that ships with the ASUS device?

I tried the cd and latest from asus. Like I said works on USB 2 ports but not the Blue UBS 3 ports. I have a Sansung series 9 laptop as well with one ubs 2.0 slot and one USB 3.0 and same problem. Won't work on UBS 3.0 (super speed) It is a problem with the Xtion. Whats the best contact for ASUS?

I'm not sure about the offical way. However, I'm in contact with the product manager of the ASUS Xtion series. I will drop him an E-Mail on Monday.

Hi Chris

Have you had any response from ASUS. I emailed their customer support and got the following reply. "just support Field of View USB2.0" does that mean the sensor is useless on usb 3 ports?

Thanks

Dear Valued Customer,
Thank you for contacting ASUS Technical Service.
Sorry, according to the specification of Xtion:
http://www.asus.com/Multimedia/Motion_Sensor/Xtion/#specifications
It seems that it just support Field of View USB2.0. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for understanding!

And for the error message, please try to connect with another computer for a try. It maybe the notebook software or operating system problem.
Best regards
Stephen

Hi, I don't have any response yet, but this is entirely my fault, since I forgot to send them the E-Mail. Sorry, will do so in the afternoon.

Best,

Is there any solution to this problem?
I've got the same problem, Retina MacBook Pro, Win7 64bits on Bootcamp, Xtion Pro, latest 64bits Openni full install package (tried 32bits package and the original Xtion Pro CD as well, no luck).

Device is recognized as PrimeSense PS1080 but refuses to work (error code 10 and a yellow warning sign in the device manager).

The device can work on my two other machines (with USB2.0) though - so should not be a hardware defection.

I suppose it is because the new MBP has only USB3.0 ports.

Any solutions?
