Has anyone used the Nyko Zoom

Hi,

 

 I was trying to think of ways to improce the Sensor and saw a video where someone had put a lens infront of the Kinect sensor and saw a minor improvement. today I found a purpose made producxt calledhe Nyko Zoom which fits onto your sensor and brings the field of view closer. This must also have some imporvements on 3d Scanning. Has anyone got one and could they post a review. I'm placing an order for one but wanted to know if anyone had beaten me to it.

doesnt help. have one. thought it would be decent for getting awole body in pose in lower res than normal. totally failed.

Hi cynaptik,

did you have any improvements? What about close or smaller object? The product is suppose to make the scan area closer to te unit itself. I only have the Xbox version and not the windows version which has a near filed option. What kinect versio are you using?

tried it on the regular xbox kinect. Nothinggood cam of it. It let mecalibrate but the reults were not good. Tried smaller object and people with no luck. I dont think it would imorove smaller objects any way.  I was just hoping I could use the wide angle to fit enough person for a whole pose capture. Was gonna try it on the Xtion as well but havent.  No luck whatsoever

The Nyko Zoom lense is actually a wide-angle lense and not a zoom lense. For more details see here
