Will the jet work with a windows mobile 8 phone?!

Or is the app running on the glasses itself and interacts with a certain protocol with an external device like a mobile via bluetooth?!

With kind regards,

Michael

Hi Michael,

Jet will work with iPhone (4S+) and Android (2.3.5+) at launch. We are currently focused on making the user experience on these platforms as seamless and as awesome as possible. We may consider adding Windows Phone 8 support in the future, but currently we have nothing to announce.

Best regards,

Kyle

Would the recon team be able to help if a developer wants to make an app that works on wp7 or 8?  The devices are paired through blue tooth so it should not be that hard to make an app that can communicate between devices.  Is there a set of functionality already provided through blue tooth that we could look at?

Thanks!
Alessandro

Hi Alessandro,

MOD Live received Bluetooth SPP qualification so in theory any SPP-compatible device can connect to it. However all of our SPP testing has been done between the HUD and an Android smartphone, so to be sure you would have to test yourself.

Best,

Kyle

Would you be able to provide sample code for this... so that we have a better idea on the support?  Android/java could would be fine.

Thanks!

Hi Alessandro,

The Android SDK comes with Bluetooth chat sample code: http://developer.android.com/tools/samples/index.html

Please note MOD Live supports API level 10, Jet supports API level 16.

Cheers,

Kyle

Hi Greg,

iOS is fully supported for Recon Jet. An SDK will be available at launch to access the onboard sensors, and a web API will be available to access the web/data on iOS and Android.

Hope this answers your question.

Thanks,

Kyle
