Data exchange with the phone?

Hi -

 

Maybe I am missing something very basic: How can an app on my recon device send data to/receive data from the phone?

I cannot see any message exchange methods in the SDK, and bluetooth permissions are not set for the app.

Hi Thomas,

We are working on integrating this functionality into our SDK. In the meantime you can install the attached file InterDeviceIntentPackage.tgz (in beta) on your MOD Live to use inter-device intents to communicate with an Android phone.

I also figured out that my bluetooth problem was a simple configuration problem, but I will give the interdevice intents a shot. 

Communication with the phone and other bluetooth devices works fine now. :)

Hi Kyle,

I opened this with Eclipse and installed it on my phone and my Mod Live.  It sends from the Mod Live to the phone, but not from the Phone to the Mod Live.  Is that expected behavior or do I have something set up wrong?

Sounds like something is set up wrong, but more details are needed. Have you tried with example code that we provide or your own code? Also, which version of Android are you running on your phone?

I tried the example project and it also only sends one way, from Mod Live
to Phone.  Phone is 4.1.2

Any ideas?
