Hi All,

What API level should we target if we wanted to mock up a JET app?   Screen res/DPI etc so I can start a simulator with similar specs.

Actually if we mocked GPS/gyroscope/temp data etc - can we use regular stuff to access that data, or will we have to go through an as yet un-released API (If API will it be similar to MOD Live?)

Hi Bob,

Recon uses a modified version of Android called ReconOS which runs on all of our devices. ReconOS is based on Android 4.1 and has full compatibility with that API. You can test the look and feel of your app as well as generic Android functionality with the following settings:

Resolution: 428x240
Android API Level 16
Mass Storage: SD Card
Inputs:Optical track pad and power button.

Thanks Kyle,

So camera/mic/gps are all accessed via normal 4.1 functionality?  What about network connectivity? A similar API to MOD Live? So that a phone is acting as a proxy/gateway

Hi Bob,

You are correct. The camera/mic/GPS are all accessed via normal Android 4.1 functionality.

Network connectivity can be accessed through Wi-Fi or through a new web API that will be similar to the web API for MOD Live (using the phone as a proxy/gateway).

Cheers,

Kyle
