Among the Ph.D. Thesis in Brazil and Best Paper Award

Dear all, 

It is my pleasure to share with you some good news. 

First of all, the Ph.D. thesis of Daniel Henriques Moreira, under my supervision and Siome Goldenstein’s, has been selected for the final stage in the 2017 SBC Ph.D. Thesis Contest (CTD-SBC), among the best Ph.D. thesis in Computer Science in Brazil for the Year 2016.

Second, the work below, co-authored by Ewerton Silva, Tiago Carvalho, Anselmo Ferreira and myself, just received the 2017 Best Paper Award  at the journal Elsevier Journal of Visual Communication and Image Representation (JVCI), Qualis A2.
