Hi everyone,
I’m writing to you as part of the Chennai Hub of the Global Shapers, which is a network driven by young people between the ages of 20 and 30. An initiative of the World Economic Forum, and with over 400 hubs in every major city in the world, we are a community of successful youngsters, who are passionate about contributing meaningfully to our city.
We are launching a discussion series focusing on the Chennai floods, and over the next few months we plan to invite experts, government officials, citizen activists and others to discuss the floods and it’s aftermath.
Hosted by us every two-weeks, we have created this platform as a means to help the residents of Chennai understand the causes for the flood in more detail, and what is being done to ready ourselves if such an event were to happen again.
Our inaugural event features a panel discussion with Raj Cherubal (Chennai City Connect), Aruna Subramaniam (Bhoomika Trust) and Arun Krishnamurthy (Environment Foundation of India). It will be moderated by Vikram Ravi (Director of Operations at Unmetric and fellow Global Shaper). The event will be held at the Chennai Higher Secondary School, Alwarpet (No. 13 Beemana Garden street, Alwarpet Chennai 600018) on October 22nd, Saturday between 4PM and 5:30PM.
Date: 22/10/2016 — Saturday.
Time: 4PM
