If sounds like everything is working for you but the scanner. Did you get to reach out to Xerox support and and verify the updated drivers you installed include working with Image Capture for scanning? Looking around, we did find this link with information about the Xerox printer and macOS Ventura and wanted to share it with you.
Here are a few good links to use when the Mac and your printer aren't working as expected together. The first link will be helpful for looking at your settings and making sure nothing has changed without your knowledge.
A relatively inexpensive device like that, or a similar product from another manufacturer, could "transform" the printer's Ethernet port to Wi-Fi, and should allow you to wirelessly connect the printer to your Wi-Fi router, thus eliminating the USB connection (in case USB as such is part of the scanning problem).
The Xerox WorkCentre 6515 Color Multifunction Printer is listed in About AirPrint - Apple Support as a model supporting the AirPrint technology. An AirPrint model can be used without having to install additional drivers, provided that the printer and the Mac are connected to the same network. AirPrint works with wireless (Wi-Fi) or wired (Ethernet) network connections.
Have you checked whether there is a change with the printer wired by Ethernet to one of the LAN ports of a Wi-Fi router instead of using the broken wireless connection (and instead of using USB, which would require drivers anyway)? The iMac should still be able to connect wirelessly (via the router).
If necessary, if you wish to connect the printer wirelessly, it should be possible to use a wireless Ethernet bridge, or a standard Wi-Fi range extender with Ethernet bridge capabilities, connected to the Ethernet port of the printer.
These are the drivers that I have installed. I wanted to clarify the second point. The printer is now connected to my Imac only through USB. I can not connect anymore via Wifi because the printer hardware got damaged and I am not close to a Ethernet port. Before it was woking via WiFi, my problem is being to make Image capture recognise the scanner via the USB connection. In parallel all the printing is going well.
But yesterday, my printer had disappeared from the app. When I try adding it again, it forwards me to a website where it asks me to download and install XeroxSmartStart_1.9.12.0, which I have tried, but it doesn't help.
@Molambre i noticed the same issue on two of my personal laptops with xerox c235 today. Surprisengly on my company laptop the printer is still visible and working properly. I also tried with similar steps as you did with no resulr. I have xerox print and scan experience 7.0 on all laptops.
Hi Mikey, thanks for this. It worked but only with perseverance: going through these steps, I was prompted to print a test page, which worked, and I was able to display my C405 with the printer name shown as its IP address in the select printer window within XPSE but when I hit the print button in Word to print a word document, it came back with the message Word could not connect to [the IP address].
And then I went back and tried printing the document from Word again and bizarrely this time it was able to communicate OK. I don't know what changed since the first attempt. Fingers crossed it will work reliably next time too.
I've been without scanning for 3 months, and without printing for 3 days. I had to go out and buy a new printer this morning to allow me to deal with some business critical printing. I've spoken to Xerox and they only offer to send a technician out to repair my printer (which is clearly not the problem). So I was tearing my hair out!

Before the bug was covered in my blog, it was not discovered or published, nor was its montrosity visible to Xerox or me. It unleashed itself across several blog articles I wrote that were then spread further by the mass media. What happened in which order can be seen in the time line below. It has been an interesting time, I promise. Originally, this blog article was published in the fear the bug would be dangerous enough to put lifes at risk and in the believe Xerox would not take the bug report serious.
Due to the mass of the blog articles, I keep getting asked for a comprehensive time line. Here it is. The relevant blog posts are linked (barely visible, though, hm). This list will be updated as used, the current status is always marked with a .
Now, let us scan the construction plan and get a PDF file from it. No OCR, just plain image. Then, we get wrong square meter numbers at the three places (Yeah, couldn't believe it, too). The screen shots of the erroneous places are organized in the below table. There is one additional line in the table for the original patches. The Xerox WorkCentre 7535 always produced the same errors; this is why we only need one line for it in the table. In contrast, the WorkCentre 7556 randomly produced different numbers, this is why I present three lines for three runs with different errors.
I know that the resolution is not too fine, but the numbers are clearly readable. Additionally, obviously, these are no simple wrong pixels, but whole image patches are mixed up or copied. I repeat: This is not an OCR problem, but of course, I can't have a look into the software itself, maybe OCR is still fiddling with the data even though we switched it off.
