WheneverI click the Sims 4 icon it takes me to Origin, but when I click the Plau button on Origin it thinks about it for a moment and then does nothing. The Sims 4 will not load, it works fine with my other game but not with Sims 4. I tried restarting my computer but had the same issue, Origin will not load the Sims 4, although it did so earlier in the day.
Thanks for the advice, I just tried repairing the game but it didn't seem to make a difference. I've tried opening it from my desktop and applications folder and it opens Origin but doesn't launch the Sims 4. Whenever I click the icon it closes then reopens Origin but not the game.
It hasn't deleted your saves or any user data. The game has simply recreated the Sims 4 folder. Your saves etc. are in the folder you dragged to your desktop. It's the first troubleshooting step you should try if your game won't open. If your game loads after moving the folder it means the issue is somewhere in your user data - corrupt save/incompatible CC or Mods etc.
me too i also tried updating my game because it needed to be updated then it worked. the next day i went to go on the sims then it did that. i tried updating it again and repairing it but it does not work :/
At this point, I have completely lost years worth of work and gameplay 5 times in the years I have owned the sims, and I'm totally at a loss. I can't even begin to express my frustration (not to mention the money I've spent and lost and doesn't seem like I will be able to get a refund) Any new suggestions would be helpful, I am not a computer expert, but since EA games gives you no help I read a lot of great blogs and forums with people who had suggestions and I followed them all.
What happens is I press the orange "play"button, the origin launcher disappears and the loading rainbow turns just like it would if the game begin to launch, and then the origin launcher window reappears with the "play" button as if nothing happened.
I've redownloaded the game and removed all CC AND redownloaded origin and it still only reopens origin if i try to launch the game. Before I uninstalled it would only open if there was custom content, but the text would be missing.
@adancingirl Please move your entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. When you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content. Don't add anything to it yet; just see whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.
Let me know whether the game launches. If it doesn't, create a new admin Windows account and try to play in that. Make it a local account, as in, don't sign into Microsoft, and don't sync with any other services you normally use. You'll be able to sign into Origin and won't need to redownload anything, but your saves and other content won't be available. That can be addressed later; for now, just see whether you can get far enough to start a new save.
@badw0lf11 You can simply drag and drop or copy and paste the files: they go in their respective subfolders (saves, Tray, Mods) inside Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. Test your mods first, and if the game stops loading, you'll need to split and retest them until you figure out which ones are causing the problem. Leave your saves for last.
Origin will not load on my I-Mac. I have gone to EA, but they sent me here. I have an I-Mac running Ventura 13.4.1 A month ago Origin did an update, when that happened Origin stopped loading? I have tried everything EA said, run tool. clean cache, uninstall, reinstall, remove Sims4 from EA folder and launch samething, it isn't the game it is Origin. I can't get them to help me, and do not understand how they think APPLE can when this is EA and not APPLE? I have found that people with a Macbook or mac mini can load Origin, it seems to be an I-Mac problem? This is what I see when I try, after two minutes it closes, if I force quit the only way I can close it now, it generates a report for APPLE, but I sent 8 so I do not send anymore. Can someone please tell me if there is anything I can do to fix this issue? Thank you! This is what I see
This is the only fix, most MAC users have found for this issue. As I had it myself for over a month, EA told me to come. here for answers, but this is a log in verification issue with Origin. Even if your log in verification is off, turn it on, then turn it off, the see if it will load. The resolution came from a player, NOT EA. Hope this helps you to.
Resolved: Resolved the issue by going into EA Account (click your profile in the drop-down at the top) > Security > Turn off Login Verification. Have no clue but it seems to be getting hung up on the Login verification, once that is off you can load the game again!
Unfortunately Origin will not load on my MacBook Air (2020). I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, the Origin Reset Troubleshoot, and this tip with no success. Are there other solutions out there? I don't understand why Origin won't run (I just get a death spiral, as pictured). Thank you!
I just had the same issue. It was my first time downloading and using Origin. I tried everything I could think of, including turning off the verification with no luck. I was using my username because it says username or email. I switched it up and used the email address instead and it worked like a champ. I hope this helps someone!
Ive turned it on an off a million times, and nope. My origin will not work. EA support is useless, they are replying to me in GERMAN (which I do not speak), and the chat is run by robots who just keep giving me the origin reset link. AAGHHHHH

Hey, thanks for your help. But fortunately what worked out for me was when I created a different user as admin on my Mac and downloaded the origin on that user, it worked. The downside is tho that you have to download from the beginning and get your mods transferred to that user.
so i've had this issue for months now, i tried literally EVERYTHING and it still doesn't work. it always shows the same message. if someone could help me i would be so grateful because im desperate at this point
I had this issue and this solution helped me for a few days, but now it won't work again. I tried turn on and then turn off the login vefirication, but the Origin app still wants to send me a verification email and then it gets stuck on a loading page. I don't know what to do, when I contacted the EA support, they couldn't help me.
Thank you so much for this solution! Origin hasn't worked for weeks, I have tried everything to fix it before this, even EA wasn't able to help me, and then I tried this solution, and it worked! My login verification was already turned off, so I turned it on, and then off again, and now the origin works fine! Thanks again!
Hi there, I had the exact same problem and spent a good while chatting with an Origin helper with them suggesting a bunch of different things. None work but I have just turned off my verification in the origin website and it worked! Hope you guys can get to solving your issues too!

BlinkInput In-browser SDK enables you to perform scans of various barcodes in your web app, directly within the web browser, without the need for sending the image to servers for processing. You can integrate the SDK into your web app simply by following the instructions below and your web app will be able to scan and process data from the following barcode standards:
Using BlinkInput in your web app requires a valid license key. You can obtain a free trial license key by registering to Microblink dashboard. After registering, you will be able to generate a license key for your web app. The license key is bound to fully qualified domain name of your web app, so please make sure you enter the correct name when asked. Also, keep in mind that if you plan to serve your web app from different domains, you will need different license keys.
BlinkInput In-browser SDK is meant to be used natively in a web browser. It will not work correctly within a iOS/Android WebView or NodeJS backend service. If you are looking for Cordova/PhoneGap version, please go here.
BlinkInput will work in any browser that supports WebAssembly, but works best with the latest versions of Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Microsoft Edge. It's worth noting that scan performance depends on the device processing capabilities.
However, we strongly advise that you host the JavaScript bundles on your infrastructure since there is no guarantee that the public CDN service has satisfactory uptime and availability throughout the world.
Do not add those files to the main app bundle, but rather place them on a publicly available location so that the SDK can load them at an appropriate time. For example, place the resources in my-angular-app/src/assets/ folder if using ng new or in my-react-app/public/ folder if using create-react-app.
