I have updated the project with the following diagram. Now that the Control Head has been mothballed, it seemed wise to revise the documentation describing the newer concept:

Please let me know if you have suggestions for ways to improve the diagram... or to improve the project for that matter.

Trying to think how we can graphically showcase the flexibility of what the smart phone image and digital interface board provides. Not sure if some images of different user GUI's flying out from the screen and how software becomes the application.

Purpose to show a universal interface that can control almost anything.

Under the yellow box some small photos of example devices. ARDF receiver, transmitter,QRP transceiver,APRS tracker, homemade signal generator etc.

Purpose to show that the hardware application could be just about anything

This architecture can be adapted to lots of applications.

Good ideas all. Perhaps it would be best to have several example application diagrams, so as to avoid making a single diagram too complicated.

Along those lines, I've been thinking that we really ought to use the Digital Interface Module in the transmitter design as well as for the receiver. Two main reasons:
1. Applying the Digital Interface to two different applications will help improve the Digital Interface design, improving it for more diverse applications.
2. To fit the transmitter into a smaller chassis, it will help to have several layers of boards vertically, thereby reducing the horizontal board area.
