One aspect of the 2m receiver design that I'm not satisfied with is the 146MHz BPF. I'll try to get the grounding right, and lay out the parts to minimize pass-through, but I'm not confident that the filter will work as well as it's ideal model would suggest, and I suspect that getting all the trimmers set correctly is going to be non-trivial.
It would likely perform better, cost less, and require no tuning whatsoever. The main problem with it is that I haven't been able to find a source that sells it in small quantities. Mouser has it:
At $4.20 they would be a considerable cost savings... the catch being that I have to purchase $2100 worth to get them at that price.
