Wanted to see what the max receiver RF input could look like so I did a test where:
Beam Antenna and transmitter both on horizontal polarization.
Beam antenna is 3 element tape measure.
Ht 18 inches from the beam.
Transmitter is kenwood HT set for high power and powered on 4 AA batteries.
Scope in 50 mode 1X att and single shot mode.
Frequency 145.565 MHZ.
Key HT and get single shot trace.

So when we have the RDP near a transmitter this is what type of signal to expect at the receiver input.

Wow it’s so nice to now have equipment that allows seeing the direct signal at VHF.
Going to do more testing using the new RSSI software that Charles posted. After that will install the preamp parts.

Do I read the display correctly: 236 mV p-p? And that is measured at the input of the matching network leading to the SA605?
