Ways of decreasing navmesh file size

Hello,

I would like to bring up this old topic once again, maybe once for all.

Due to having a huge and detailed terrain, I am concerned with navmesh size, especially on the consoles. So, I would like to do everything possible to keep the size low.

What I know:

- Keeping the terrain smaller and less dense (not really possible)
- Choosing proper parameters and applying right filters during the generation
- Keeping the navmesh tiles less divided because of different types of areas
- Using a modified version of NavMeshPruneTool for getting rid of the small areas in the saved file

Are these all we can do in order to keep the navmesh size low, or are there any other approaches (including advance ones) or some papers that would help?
