Captcha problems

Hi. We had been using captcha for long time and we are having complains for costumers all the time.
The catpcha is so hard to read and a lot of time the words are not complete, they appeared cut in half, we really need a solution to this problem as soon as possible.
Is there any way the captcha can be a bit simple to use and use friendly.
Thanks

This is not an answer to your problem necessarily, but it's a suggestion.

For the sake of simplicity and making everything accessible to the blind, if you care to do so, try using this site as an alternative:

It's not the traditional captcha, rather providing text questions that need to be answered. You can find examples on the site, as well as more information that may help you decide whether to use it.

Hope this helps, and I hope your question is properly answered.

Simon

Indeed, the captcha system is useless because it's too hard to read now !!!!!

Our clients and me don't like it anymore, this anti-spam thing is blocking humans too.....

PLEASE make it better !!!

;-) Arthur

Yes, sadly recaptcha has gone from being one of the best captcha systems to one of the worst :(

Was really good in the old days.

I guess because it became more popular, more people made bots that could crack it, and so they had to make it harder and harder, to the extent that now it's almost impossible for humans to complete - and that's when it returns a response that's actually visually complete in the first place :/

Yes, sometimes the captcha is hard to read (cut and quizzing words...) but it's the price to pay for a piece of security. And,  really, It's worth it.

Agreed.

Also, the audio reCaptcha is 100% impossible now.  This makes any website using reCaptcha fail accessibility standards and prohibits the (legal) use for section 503 compliant companies/websites.

They need to release an update immediately.  Letting a few more spammers in is far better than keeping large portions of the honest public out.

If letting spammers in is better, why don't the site owner remove reCAPTCHA?

Surely, the site owners have more vested interest in letting large
portions of the honest public in than Google does?

Just curious.

How many of the people making the observation of the difficulty of the re-captcha are actual site administrators, and not just consumers of the application? If you are a site admin, how about showing some numbers about the amount of users who have used the technology (pass/failed) with IP addresses as group separator (because we dont want a bot on 10.0.x.y having a 100% fail count)

Perhaps if the data is available, it may interest someone in google to look into the issues that exist.

Hard to read "sometimes"?   It's always difficult to read!  Are we talking about the same thing here?

I tried to solve the "Audio" version of the puzzle - I can't figure out what on earth its saying.  Even after several attempts and different CAPTCHA codes I still can't figure it out.

I have solved many many captchas over years, but recently i detected that one of the scanners of recaptcha must be defect. It scannes between the lines and cuts the text. It looks like a mechanical defect, i hope google will fix it soon to make the captchas readable again und the human OCR will work flawlessy again.
Back in time the captchas with the negative dot were much worse than the actual, so i would say no need to complain.

Even since I heard of recaptcha I've have trouble passing the "test". pretty much every time I can't read it and I try like 15-25 times.
I think recaptcha is stupid if real people cannot reasonably pass the "test"
Just letting you guys know

....and impossible to type (it uses non QWERY characters) and also non US keyboard ones. Why do you idiots use this? It's crap.

Please stop using this annoying piece of garbage! Then maybe your problems will be solved. WTF would you use a technology that displays unreadable garbage? Uses non QWERTY characters you can't even type and characters that US keyboards don't even have?

It's idiots like you that keep supporting this shit, STOP using it and your problems are over.

It's NOT worth it. It's worth it if you don't want anyone to visit your site. It's a wasting my time. FIX IT

Hi Chris,

This looks really good. Way to go! I will mention this to the sites I use. :)

I recently launched a new product to replace CAPTCHAs, called VouchSafe, (http://www.vouchsafe.com).  VouchSafe works based on the association between objects, and is designed to be as easy as possible for users to complete, while still being secure.

I have absolutely no money for marketing or promotion, but we have slowly been building a community of users.  We have developed APIs for PHP and .NET, as well as plugind for PHPBB, Joomla, Drupal and WordPress, so if you'd like to try using VouchSafe on your website, it's easy, and it's free.

If your website processes more than 1000 CAPTCHAs a day, please let us know in advance so we can make sure you are well supported.

Yours truly,

My customers also cannot read the first word of the series, and the audio file is unintelligible.  I have lost many sales because of this, so I had to eliminate it from the website.

Agreed.  I started using it, but cannot continue because of complaints.  It's just too cryptic.  Unfortunately, what I thought was going to be a solutions is not.  Perhaps they should offer different levels of obscurity.  What they have now is just not acceptable.

Please Google developers, lately captcha has become almost unusable.

I consider myself an intelligent person with no visual disability. Everytime I want to post on any forum or other service with this kind of captchas it takes me 2 minutes and about 10 attempts to solve the captcha. Please take a look at the gif video, they are totally unreadable.

Also, audio captchas are also totally ununderstandable.

Yes, it is worth the price of security if the actual aim is to prevent your customers from providing feedback.  ("I must have a great product since nobody every complains.  I am great!" "No, you idiot.  Nobody can read the stupid captchas so they can register their compaints!")

normally i've got no problem with the concept of captcha, but i've got to try more than 10 times to get my account today! and only because they finally changed the type of captcha! in the end i've asked the help of my friends and we didn't got any of them! the latest i've got to try are in picture if you want to take a look and guess too :)!
soo yeah, i think they've got hardest too.
