recaptcha V2 and Mailhide

I have google mail hide enabled on my site. It masks my email address. If the email link is clicked on it launches a recaptcha V1 and when that is correctly solved my actual email address link is revealed.

Now it is displaying the message to upgrade to recaptcha V2. I'm happy to do that but I cannot seem to find any info on how to incorporate the new V2 into the mail hide.

Is mail hide still advisable to use? Can recaptcha V2 work with mail hide? Is there any instruction on how to implement V2 with mail hide?

I also would love to see this feature upgraded to use with mailhide and the current recaptcha api

The mailhide creation link still works, but it still leads to the v1,  it won't let me paste the google link here

After digging through this forum, I've discovered that Google had responded to this issue on this post: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topicsearchin/recaptcha/mailhide/recaptcha/CxzVXBI6G84

Basically, they've discontinued mailhide.
