A very small amount of my users get a captcha that asks them to copy and paste a code, but it always fails for them - while most of the users get the normal one (checkbox) which goes through correctly.
Googling only returned three instances of people getting that captcha none of which had any valuable information

Any ideas as to why they're getting that captcha and most importantly why does it fail?

This is annoying. I copy the code, paste it and there is nothing else to do, nothing happens. I'm using Chrome, you'd think something would work.

Same here. I paste it in and there is nothing else I can do. No button or anything. Chrome 41 with all addons disabled

I had the same problem. After pasting the code, just drag the striped corner in the post window noted in the picture, then click 'Post'.

Same here. Our clients are from mainland China, pasted the code but no button to post.

It appears that the chrome extension Disconnect (which has been removed from the chrome store) makes it happen for all of its users

Hi all.

Was there any solution to this? It seems that the copy&paste captcha challenge is still failing for some users and would like to know how to solve it.

Cheers

It appears that it has now started happening to mobile users without any extensions.

I'm getting this in my cordova application. Forced to cancel implementation until Google fixes.

This happen with browser has low security and/or browser which is very out dated and/or browser with has extension/plugin conflict with the captcha.

Normally when this appear, user just need to copy and paste the result into the textarea, and click the "submit" button of the website (no need for a submit button of the captcha itself). If the captcha got implemented correctly it will be passed.

For the case of failing, the developers (who code the website) should be responsible for it because this is a mistake of implementation. And cases will be either of these:

- in case JS being enabled, the code must be received by window.grecaptcha.getResponse(captchaWidgetId) and then submit to captcha server to verify it.
- in case JS being disabled, the code msut be recived when form submitted with the textarea has name="g-recaptcha-response" the the code need to be submit again to recapthca server to verify it.
