Hi all,

I am trying to implement reCaptcha on the sign up page of my website.
My problem happens when I actually publish the project to the web.

I followed the ASP.NET plugin instructions to the T and even created a
couple of pages with nothing but the reCaptcha control on them to test
it.
No matter what I do, once the project gets published, the page
displaying the control redirects me to my 404 Error page (File Not
Found).

The correct libraries have been installed and the page runs perfectly
on my local machine, but below is an example of a page with nothing
but the reCaptcha control, a label, and a button.

<%@ Page Language="VB" AutoEventWireup="false"
CodeFile="captcha.aspx.vb" Inherits="test_captcha" %>
<%@ Register TagPrefix="recaptcha" Namespace="Recaptcha"
Assembly="Recaptcha" %>

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://
www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head runat="server">
<title>Untitled Page</title>
</head>
<body>
<form id="form1" runat="server">
<div>
<asp:Label ID="lblResult" runat="server" Text="Label"></
asp:Label>
<recaptcha:RecaptchaControl
ID="recaptcha"
runat="server"
PublicKey="MY PUBLIC KEY"
PrivateKey="MY PRIVATE KEY"
/>
<asp:Button ID="Button1" runat="server" Text="Button" />
</div>
</form>
</body>
</html>

No matter what I do I always get sent to the 404 (File Not Found)
page.....except when I am running locally.

Looks like server config issue to me. Try a blank ASP.NET page as well.

I created a blank asp page (called it blank.asp) and put it on my
server.

Now I am getting - 500 (Internal Server) Error.

Here is the HTML of this page...

<%@ Page Language="VB" %>
<%@ Register TagPrefix="recaptcha" Namespace="Recaptcha"
Assembly="Recaptcha" %>

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://
www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

<script runat="server">

</script>

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head runat="server">
<title>Untitled Page</title>
</head>
<body>
<form id="form1" runat="server">
<div>
<asp:Label ID="lblResult" runat="server" Text="Label"></asp:Label>
<recaptcha:RecaptchaControl
ID="recaptcha"
runat="server"
PublicKey="6LfBl8QSAAAAAAnsuI1zJkH13BStCQZlH__ZFCGD"
PrivateKey="6LfBl8QSAAAAAKJc0KQGGJg1AHFoKCWtMY2c_AM-"

Something interesting to note. (I thought)

I delete the reCaptcha DLL's from my server and tried visiting the
pages again (don't know why, I knew it wouldn't work) but,
When I visiting the blank.asp page the URL stayed the same and
displayed the 404 Error page. On the ASPX page when visited
it displayed the error like this "mydomain.com"/GenericErrorPage.htm?
aspxerrorpath=/test/captcha.aspx
