reCAPTCHA not working with VPN in China

I am a TEFL teacher working in China and I have no choice but to use a VPN (Express VPN) to access Google Chrome, Google browsing and my GMail account. The latest version of reCAPTCHA harasses me endlessly, more often than not fails to load  and basically prevents me from using any Google products.

I am decidedly unimpressed, as this makes doing my job extremely difficult.

I am with you. same circumstances. can not get past captcha because tick box doesn't appear. Using VPN and inside China. So far I have gotten no response from Google or anyone in group to my post for help with this. My guess is they do not care.
