Hi,

Is the service going down every once in a while? It seems to work for
us fine on certain days and then it stops working....then it starts
working again. I can’t seem to understand what the problem is. Is it
on our side or Google's side?

Not sure if Google is changing the IP and that is what is causing it
to stop working? Has anyone experience this?

Please help!

Even we are facing the same issues. Members are complaining that they
are not able to see anything in the place of recaptcha.
Looks like google has lost its interest in this project also after
translation and transliteration services!

'Dont be evil' was Google motive. 'Dont kill aspirations of web
masters' should also be added to their motive list.

Hi,

We haven't been down.

>> Not sure if Google is changing the IP and that is what is causing it to stop working?

We recommend that you don't point to IP addresses when accessing our
API, as they are subject to change at any time.

Here are some troubleshooting tips you can provide to your users:

Step 1: Can you see the CAPTCHA at: http://www.google.com/recaptcha/demo/
Yes: The website you were visiting has implemented reCAPTCHA
incorrectly. Please email the website to let them know they have a
problem.

Step 2: Is your browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome,
Safari) running any ad blockers / no-script extensions?
Yes: Please make sure these are not blocking reCAPTCHA. You may want
turn them off temporarily to see what happens. Also, you may want to
try installing a different browser to see if that works.

Step 3: Are you behind a firewall/proxy?
Yes: You may need to tell your firewall/proxy to stop blocking
reCAPTCHA. Please see the following webpage:
http://code.google.com/p/recaptcha/wiki/FirewallsAndRecaptcha. If you
are in a corporate environment, ask your IT staff about this.

Step 4: If Steps 1 to 3 have failed, please email us all of the
following information:
 1. What website were you trying to visit that had a reCAPTCHA on it?
 2. What browser are you using (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome,
Safari, etc.)?
 3. What version of the browser are you using?
 4. What browser extensions do you have installed? (e.g. AdBlock, etc.)
 5. Are you behind any firewalls or proxies?
 6. Does reCAPTCHA work if you use a different browser, or a different computer?

Best,

The reCAPTCHA Team.

recaptcha service stopped working with FireFox, Chrome and Safari, OK
with IE 8 Options

For refference the site page that uses the recaptcha is located at:

http://www.rosedalenewhomes.com/interest-list.php

This form with recaptcha has been working fine since May of 2011, all
of a sudden without any changes to the page it stopped working at the
end of July, Chrome, FireFox and Safari browsers can not successfuly
submit the form and the recaptcha will not validate.

I have tried to locate the problem and it seems to be Java related, if
I disable Jave in these freshly installed browsers that do not use any
ad-ons or plugins, then the validation is done and a validation code
is generated and you have to copy and paste it into another field
generated by the API and things are fine.

WHAT CHANGED?

Your input is graetly appreciated.

Thanks

I did a quick look and it seems that it is a classic FORM inside a
TABLE problem. Search the archive and you'll see that this is a common
problem.

While you're at it, it's a good idea to run it through the validator
and fix the remaining issue as well.
