I have a client that needs to access a major financial website who is
using Google Recaptcha. Currently, Recaptcha is blocked by their
content filtering device, so it does not appear on the website they
are visiting.

I can allow content through via IP address or domain name, but would
prefer domain name as I've commonly seen Google shuffle their IPs
around like a deck of cards. I tried using "google.com/recaptcha/" as
an exception, but have not been successful. Are there a set of
specific domains I can unblock that will make this work -WITHOUT
opening all of Google.com?

There's a complete set of IP addresses here: <http://code.google.com/p/recaptcha/wiki/FirewallsAndRecaptcha>

I've read your link, thanks for providing it.

So my only option is allowing access to all of Google? That's really
what I'm trying to avoid in the first place. My client only wishes to
allow the Recaptcha.

If you want to be sure of being able to use reCAPTCHA behind a firewall, yes.

Thanks for the info.

Does ReCaptcha use port 80 or port 443 traffic?

Does anybody see that if you allow the access of all Google IPs,     you re opening almost all the INternet you tried to block with the firewall???  example...you will have access to Youtube

??

This is indeed quite crazy, our company also had to move away from allowing Google Maps onto other services, and now this... we can't even use reCaptch without letting users access YouTube, Google+ and others.. :/
