Salesforce Web-to-Lead with reCaptcha - intermittent failures

We have implemented Salesforce Web-to-Lead form on our website. if no recaptcha, the web form creates a lead successfully all the time from any browser.

When reCaptcha is added, the lead record is created sometimes and sometimes throws below recaptcha validation failed message.

1. What could be the reason for this failed case?
