There have been some recent discussions on tool sharpening and
on various sharpening stones. The following information borrowed
from Patrick Spielman's _Sharpening Basics_ (published by Sterling
Publilshing Co. 1991) may be of interest.

Japanese waterstone grit designations do not correlate with the
conventional United States grit designations. The following table
compares the Japaneze and United States grit numbering systems
and the range of designations for various types of abrasives.
