OT - ANYBODY HERE KNOW WHAT COLOR THIS IS?

ochre, and red, to mix up gold color.
I can't find a thing to tell me what color stone ochre is. I can
find references to it, but that's it. I looked up ochre colors. That
told me they were any color from almost white, thru various shades of
yellow, brown, and red, to black. I finally e-mailed Real Milk Paint,
but no response yet. So, I figured I'd do like everyone else, and put
the question to an international newsgroup.
OK, does anyone here know what color stone ochre is? And can offer
some sort of proof? I don't trust you buggers very much.

C'mon, man. Interior decorators don't have much they can set to jargon,
because, after all, it's couches and curtains. But if the set the colors up
with hard to decipher names, they're right there with the rest of the
"professionals," jargonizing up a storm.

The color naming thing has been out of control for a long time.
I still don't know what Puce is but it sounds too much like Puke for
me to get interested.
White is the absolute worst. There's more kinds of White than the
Eskimos have names for different kinds of snow.
I don't even want to think about words like Mauve, Teal, Cerulean,
etc.
I was just talking to a customer this morning who was questioning me
about stain choices for her poplar wall unit.
She whips out the ubiquitous and inadequate Minwax Stain Chart. (How
many times have I seen that piece of crap shoved in my face?)
She wanted, "A Walnut Look".
(Then why don't you spring for freakin' walnut and be done with it?)
I told her what I've been telling all of them for a long time:
Most wood is brown. Some of it is light brown. Some of it is
dark brown. Some is in between. Some brown wood is yellowish
brown. Some brown wood is reddish brown. You can't go by the
name on the Minwax chart because your wood will not look like
walnut - just because they call it walnut.
As usual, the response was, "What about cherry".
Sigh.
Don't think she wasn't bright. She picked up on the fact that I don't
care much for Minwax stains.
"So, how do you make your own cherry stain?"
"Two parts medium brown, one part blue, one part yellow, one half part
red."
"I don't want it to look blue."
"Sigh."
"Will it look like my other cherry furniture?"
"Yes."
"So, we're talking about natural cherry, right?"
"Your furniture is not natural cherry."
(shock) "But, it was very expensive, it's Ethan Allen."
"Sigh."
"You mean that Ethan Allen doesn't make their cherry furniture out of
natural cherry?"
"Well, the cherry is pretty natural when it starts out but isn't what
anyone would call natural after it's gone through the finishing
process."
"So, is it particle board?"
"Sigh."

I'm thinking they just mixed left over paint together, got drunk,
and started making up names. I wan't drinking, but I've got a can of
paint out in my shop I came up with by mixing leftover paint, I call it
S**t Brindle Brown. I use it as a primer coat sometimes.
