Assuming that they are both in good working condition, is one of better
quality than the other, or did Jet just change colors?
Any feedback is appreciated.

Wow, Jet hasn't used the blue paint in 3 years or so - meaning that saw
has been there for quite a while and you may be able to negotiate a very
good deal to take it off their hands. Otherwise, it's probably of the
same quality as the white one.

Randy,
If your interested I have a Gold Series Jet 14" Closed Stand fro sale.
Mobile base, riser block, fence and miter guide. I've added cool blocks.
Additionally, Jet has changed the tension spring since white models were
first introduced. It is much thicker for greater tension and use of
bi-metal blades.

Where can I get the new spring for the tension control that was
mentioned in this thread? Make sure you purchase .025 thick blades
instead of the 0.032 or 0.035 since the Jet doesn't seem to provide
enough tension for blades that are this thick. I believe Jet
recommends 0.025" thick blades too? I have a 3/4" wide 0.035 carbide
blade that works great for resawing wide boards, but I would recommend
the 1/2" 0.025 Lenox carbide blade instead. I've purchased all my
blades from a place called Burtons in Worcester, MA. They do
exceptional welding on these blades.

You are talking about the blades imbedded with micro-carbides I assume? I know
these blades would last longer than a carbon steel blade but why would they cut
any better? Carbide by nature cannot be sharpened as sharp as carbon steel.
Just curious, why do you think they outperform carbon steel? I am using the
type blades by Olson, I am not seeing much difference either way in the way
they cut but I would agree that they should last longer.
