Just received my new Fein Turbo II shop vac from Coastal Tool today,
and wondering if anyone knows if they make a CleanStream Filter that
will fit it.

The Jury is still out to lunch on how I feel about this vac.
Just before it arrived (today), I was at Home Depot gocking
all over the ShopVac QSP line. Can't plug them in at the store
to see how loud they are, but they do look nice. So I'm now
wondering if I made the right decision.

The Vac has a nice "feel" to it, and looks good quality.
The hose is small diameter, but *very* flexable, long, and
nice to handle. I'm still playing with the attachments, so
have no real input other than they certainly feel "different".

The thing IS very nice and quiet, and I "do" like that. You
don't appreciate that until you run it for a while - kinda has
a pleasant sound to it, and I'd say it is more quiet than a
good upright vac used in the house.

Another question, if anyone cares to comment, is with the
cloth filter basket that comes with it, it doesn't seem
like it would hold much "volume", as it seems that the filter
basket takes up most of the room in the tank. Anyone notice this ?

Suction seems "ok", although everyone wants more suction in
a shop vac.

Thanks

One problem with the CleanStream filters is that you have to
choose between using the goretex filter and using a paper
bag. I ended up using the sheetrock filter bags for most
stuff, and the goretex filter in the tiny "clean studio" I
use for office, finishing, etc. Isn't a hepa filter
available for the Fein? I remember that all the accessories
are listed in the highland hardware catalog.

Don't know about the availability of Cleanstream filters for this vac, because
for woodworking, I haven't felt the need for one, as I did for my old Sears
vac. I had the same concern as you did re the volume with the standard filter,
but, believe me, it holds a lot of sawdust. I have NOT used it for planer
shavings as I use my dust collector for that, but I'm sure that would fill it
up faster.

I love this vac; it's quiet, high quality, quiet, convenient, very well-made,
quiet, and convenient. It's also very quiet.

Enjoy it.

Fein makes a Hepa filter which is more effective than a Cleanstream.
But it is rather expensive--around $60-$80. Coastal Tool carries it.

Hi, Cathy.

What's to choose? I tossed the original bag filter. Now I use it with no
filter to pick up liquids, or with the GoreTex for dry. Period. No problem
for me there.

I use it in the house, and I want all fines removed as possible at the
source. The GoreTex filter is MUCH slower to clog up than a bag filter, or
OEM ShopVac paper cartridge.

Makes a really inexpensive vacuum work like one costing many times the
price.

John

It can be mighty convenient to toss the bag rather than
empty the vac. To empty the vac I go outside, try to stand
upwind, etc. And the sheetrock bags are rated to 95% of
particles at .01 microns. Isn't that pretty good?
