What is the deal with the Reliant name. I see them at woodworkers warehouse
but haven't heard much as far as thier quality in respects to other tools. They
look hauntingly familiar to the models I see in the Harbor freight catalog. Are
they one of those made in Taiwan brands that everyone slaps a label on. Any
insight would be greatly appreciated.

They can also be found at roadside "Giant Truckload Tool Sale" locations
on most weekends.( the ones sold on card tables set up next to 1974 ford
torino station wagons)

My Dad has the Reliant "wide belt" sander. The drive motor for the
bed gave out and he was told it would cost a huge amount of money to
replace. He finally found an OEM source and replaced it. Trendlines
told him they had "temporarily" discontinued this machine because of
problems. He's happy with it but not enough to jump up and down.

well ill tell yall,Trend lines has told me on 2 occasions
the tools/power tools i purchased from them has been discontinued.my reliant
drill press sits in the corner
collecting dust and my rossette cutters are doing the same..it seems that 6
months later Trend lines is still selling the rossetes they said were
dangerous..ummmi
guess they think the rossettes were not so bad after all. they sent me another
part for holding the drill or bit in my drill press
and it falls out on the table just like the first one did after a few rounds..

Are you talking about the shaft that has the chuck on it, and is
tapered? If so, that is a press fit. You need to clean it and the
quill (where it fits) really well, and then press it in place. You can
warm the quill with a propane torch (to help it expand) if you are
careful not to get it too hot. Then put the chuck shaft into the quill
and pull down hard on the quill with the handles that lower the quill
assembly.

Does anyone know the address or email for Reliant tools? I bought a
dovetail machine and it had no directions.

I have a few. Reliant woodworking machines from back in the early 90s bought brand-new from Woodworkers Warehouse 14in bandsaw a 2 horsepower dust collector a 1 inch vertical belt sander and some other stuff. All are still working awesome. And I own a woodworking business doing custom woodworking. And they have held up. Awesome better than some stuff. I have bought at Harbor Freight.
